 Brunswick 40, Elyria 35: In a back and forth shootout in Brunswick, the Blue Devils ended the Pioneers chances to a undefeated season on Friday night, giving Elyria its first lost on the season.

Elyria (5-1, 2-1) will hit the road for the second straight week to face North Royalton.

Perkins 34, Clyde 14: In a battle of two undefeated on Friday night, the Pirates ground the Fliers giving them their first loss of the season.

Perkins (6-0, 3-0) will host Port Clinton next Friday.

Black River 37, Wellington 21: The Pirates survived a scare against their rival the Dukes on Friday night. Homecoming King and Pirates running back Andrew Vaughn iced the Wellington come back late in the third quarter when he returned a 102-yard interception for a touchdown.

Vaughn also ran for two touchdowns and had 240-yards rushing. Black River’s David Bell also scored two rushing touchdowns to help out the Pirated scoring.

“We knew it was a tough game.” Black River head coach Al Young said. “I’m really proud of the way we played defense in the second half.”

Brecksville 48, Amherst 7: The Bees stung the Comets on Friday night, keeping Amherst winless on the season.

Amherst’s Chad Perkins got the Comets on the scoreboard with a 63-yard touchdown run.

Amherst (0-6, 0-2) will host Olmsted Falls next Friday.

Buckeye 33, Brookside 15: After starting the season on a three game losing streak, the Bucks pick up their three straights over the Cardinals. Buckeye is now on a nine game winning streak against Brookside since 2005.

Brookside (2-4, 1-2) will be at home next Friday to host Firelands.

Clearview 48, Brooklyn 22: After losing their last two games, the Clippers got back to their winning ways on Friday night, sinking the Hurricanes in Brooklyn.

Clearview quarterback Roger Engel scored the first touchdown of the night for the Clippers on a one yard touchdown run in on fourth down with 8:38 left in the second quarter.

Engel also threw for two passing touchdowns on the night. His first passing touchdown on the night was a 54-yard touchdown pass to Gerrell Williams in the second quarter. His second touchdown was to Lance Billings for nine yards in the third quarter.

He last touchdown on the night was a one yard touchdown run late in the game, setup by a Billings 38-yard run.

Clearview (3-3, 1-2) travels to Fairview next Friday to play the Warriors.

Western Reserve 35, Crestview 20: The Roughriders roughed up the Cougars on Friday night, giving Western Reserve its third win of the season.

Western Reserve (3-3, 2-1) will welcome New London next Friday at 7 p.m.

Lutheran West 34, Oberlin 8: The Longhorns grounded the Phoenix on Friday night, ending their three game losing streak.

Oberlin (2-4, 1-2) will head east to play Columbia next Friday.

Mapleton 42, Monroeville 13: The magical season continues for the Mounties on Friday night, giving the Eagles their seventh straight lose dating back from last season.

Monroeville (0-6, 0-3) will hit the road next Friday to play South Central.

Edison 37, Margaretta 6: The Chargers bolted the Polar Bears on Friday night, giving Edison its first win in Sandusky Bay Conference action.

Edison (3-3, 1-2) will play at St. Mary next Friday night.

Huron 34, Oak Harbor 7: After losing a heartbreaker to Perkins last week, the Tigers bounced back on Friday night, defeating the Rockets at Huron Memorial Stadium.

Huron (4-2, 2-1) heads to Margaretta next Friday night at 7 p.m.

Norwalk 48, Sandusky 34: The Truckers rolled past the Blue Streaks on Friday night, giving Norwalk its first conference win of the season.

Norwalk running back Breck Turner iced the game for the Truckers on a 18-yard touchdown run with 2:35 left in game.

Sandusky’s Jay Moore was the only problem for the Truckers as he scored three touchdowns for the Blue Streaks.

Norwalk (5-1, 1-1) will head down Route 20 to play rival Bellevue and Sandusky (1-5, 1-1) will play former conference foe Marion Harding in non-conference play next Friday.

St. Mary 44, Port Clinton 37: The Panthers clawed their way to their second win on Friday night, keeping the Redskins winless on the season.

St. Mary (2-4, 1-2) will host Edison next Friday.

St. Paul 41, New London 13: The Flyers flew down the Wildcats on Friday night. Making it the fourth time this season that St. Paul scored over 40 points this season.

St. Paul (5-1, 3-0) will host Plymouth next Saturday night and New London (3-3, 1-2) will head to Collins to play Western Reserve next Friday.

Wellington (0-6, 0-3) will host rival Keystone next Friday.

Ontario 21, Vermilion 14: The Warriors sunk the Sailors on Vermilion’s last home game of the season on Friday night, giving the Sailors a three game losing streak. Vermilion (2-4) is at Youngstown Christian next week.
